On 17-21 June, Eurosatory, one of the largest international exhibitions for the defence industry, was being held in Paris. Ukrainian companies, both public and private, took part at the exhibition. In addition to presentation of their own developments, documents on future partnership were signed during the exhibition. The Ministry of Strategic Industries was represented by Serhiy Boyev, Deputy Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine.
The companies of Ukrainian Defence Industry JSC have signed five documents with European companies.
Two of them are with the French company Thales. The first is a memorandum on the establishment of a joint venture in Ukraine that will repair and modernise equipment for electronic warfare, communications, air defence systems and radars.
The second concerns the French side's intention to establish a service centre in Ukraine that will maintain and test electronic warfare equipment and radars.
The cooperation agreement with Hexadron regulates cooperation on the joint production of an unmanned aerial vehicle.
A cooperation agreement on the installation and test use of navigation systems on Ukrainian-made radars was signed with Exail.
We also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Arquus. This document covers the maintenance and modernisation of armoured vehicles.
In addition, the French association GICAT signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Technological Forces of Ukraine association, and one of the private drone developers agreed on the joint development of UAVs with Thales.
"The Ukrainian and European defence industries have a lot to share with each other. We count on long-term and fruitful cooperation that will increase not only Ukrainian defence capability but in European Union as well, part of which we will eventually become," said Alexander Kamyshin, Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine.
