On February 24, Minister of Strategic Industries Alexander Kamyshin and CEO and co-founder of Helsing GmbH Gundbert Scherf signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the security and defense sector.

Helsing is a German company that develops software and integrates artificial intelligence into defense technologies. It partners with major defence manufactures including SAAB and Rheinmetall. The company has been operating in Ukraine since 2022.

The purpose of the memorandum is to strengthen Ukrainian defense technologies. This includes the introduction of artificial intelligence technologies in drones, including UAVs, made in Ukraine.

"This year will be the year of artificial intelligence and ground robotic systems for the Ukrainian defense industry. When the enemy is outnumbering, we must prevail in technology and smart solutions. Helsing's experience and expertise will help Ukrainian developments become even more effective," said Alexander Kamyshin.

Helsing also expressed its intention to further cooperate with Ukrainian defense companies in this area.

According to Gundbert Scherf, this agreement is a step towards the integration of Helsing's technological expertise into the Ukrainian defense sector. Its goal is to support Ukraine in achieving technological superiority and contributing to the security of the whole of Europe.

This partnership marks an important step in our continued support for Ukraine and its brave Armed Forces. It will allow us to accelerate the integration of state of the art AI solutions into Ukrainian defence systems”" said Gundbert Scherf.
