The military-industrial complex of Ukraine will become one of the most important sectors of the future economy.
This was stated by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during his speech at the Kyiv International Economic Forum.
"MIC. We are growing in this sector. We have a large state order. ₴400 billion is expected for procurement by the Ministry of Defense this year and next year. This year, an additional ₴40 billion was allocated to the purchase of drones," the Head of Government emphasized.
Among the key sectors that will become the basis of the Ukrainian economy, Denys Shmyhal also included the agricultural sector, energy, IT, construction, and mechanical engineering.
The Prime Minister reported that in 2023, through joint efforts, Ukraine managed to change many negative trends that developed due to Russia's full-scale aggression.
"Inflation slowed down from 26% to 8-9%. We have record international reserves in the amount of about 40 billion dollars. The deficit remained at the level of 20% and we know how to finance it next year," said Denys Shmyhal.
