The Netherlands has allocated €60 million for the purchase of drones for Ukraine. Of this amount, €20 million will be spent on FPV drones as part of an international drone coalition, €22.5 million on Dutch drones, and €17.5 million on Ukrainian-made maritime drones.

The allocation of funds was announced by Dutch Minister of Defence Kajsa Ollongren she visited Ukraine. There, she and Vice Admiral Jan Willem Hartman, Commander of the Dutch Logistics and IT Command,  among other things, visited companies that produce  various types of drones, as well as military facilities and a drone preparing centre.

" With each visit, I am impressed by the resilience of Ukrainian society and the devoted people, both military and civilian. The Netherlands can also learn a lot from huge innovative and creative power of the Ukrainian armed forces. It is a pleasure to share experiences with each other,’ said Kajsa Ollongren.

In Kyiv, Kajsa met with Denys Shmyhal, Prime Minister of Ukraine and Rustem Umerov, Minister of Defence.

"After Denmark and Canada, the Netherlands is the third country  to join our arms initiative by allocating funds for the purchase of weapons for the Ukrainian defence forces in our country. We are grateful to our partners or their faith in Ukrainian defence and for their consistent support. We will continue to work together - we have agreed to hold a bilateral defence industry forum this autumn,’ said Alexander Kamyshin, Minister of Strategic Industries.

As a reminder, ZBROYARI: Manufacturing Freedom is a global fundraising campaign, a strategic collection among partner countries. Its goal is to raise $10 billion for the production of Ukrainian weapons in 2024. As part of the project, we already have three donors – in addition to the Netherlands, Denmark has allocated $28.5 million, and Canada has allocated $2.1 million for the purchase of Ukrainian weapons for the Ukrainian army.
