On 18 October, Minister of Strategic Industry of Ukraine Herman Smetanin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Ukraine, Carlo Formosa, and Military Attaché Igor Torti held a working meeting on defence industry cooperation.
In particular, they discussed the current state of the Ukrainian defence industry, key sectors and development prospects. They also discussed bilateral cooperation between Ukrainian and Italian defence companies in the fields of air defence, electronic warfare, armoured vehicles and UAVs. During the meeting, they analysed the progress of existing projects and potential areas of cooperation, including joint projects and investments.
“We look forward to deepening cooperation between Ukrainian and Italian defence companies and expanding the areas of this cooperation. The Ukrainian defence industry is increasing its capabilities, but we still need financial support from our partners and assistance in the supply of explosives. At the same time, we are ready to share our experience in the production of defence products and their effectiveness on the battlefield. We stand for equal partnership and open dialogue between industrialists”, — said German Smetanin.
The parties also discussed financing possibilities to support the supply of Ukrainian military products to the Armed Forces.
The Ukrainian defence industry is strengthening its capabilities, including through cooperation with international partners. We continue to build the arsenal of the free world.
