Joint-stock company "Ukrainian Defense Industry" (UOP) saved almost ₴50 million during the joint purchase of electricity in the Prozorro system. The total amount of the tender for about 60 enterprises of the UOP exceeds ₴1 billion.

According to Oleksandr Kamyshin, the Minister for Strategic Industries, "this approach to public procurement is a good sign of the correct focus of the new UkrOboronProm team."

The auction took place for three lots. It was attended by six leading domestic electricity suppliers - both state and private. The winner was the state energy trader JSC Energy Company of Ukraine.

"We are changing the procurement system of UkrOboronProm. The saved funds are extremely important for us because they can be directed to the development of the production potential of enterprises," says Herman Smetanin, Director General of the Joint-Stock Company "Ukrainian Defense Industry".

Vitaliy Butenko, Director General of the tender winning company, in turn added: "Intensification of competition due to the entry into the market of the state energy trader gives a win-win result. On the one hand, there is a significant reduction in the costs of state-owned companies for electricity purchases. On the other hand, an increase in state revenues from trade in those segments of the energy market where it was almost absent before."

It is worth noting that it was the centralized purchase of electricity, which did not take place, for example, in 2022, that allowed significant savings.
