Ukraine should make weapons its main export product, which will be the embodiment of war-tested quality. Oleksandr Kamyshin, the Minister for Strategic Industries, talked about this on the air of the National News Marathon on August 7.
In an interview, the head of the Ministry of Strategic Industries reported on the main achievements in the position during the first 100 days of work. "I reassembled the team. This is the "old guard" with experience plus the youth who are responsible for development. During these 138 days that I have been working in the position, the Ministry of Strategic Industries has started to play an important role, people finally heard about us," Kamyshin said.
According to the Minister, the priority in further work is to continue increasing the pace of production of the maximum range of weapons in the maximum quantity and the highest quality. "If we do not focus on the arsenal of the free world, it will be difficult for us. Defense industry should become the engine of economic recovery after the war and ensure our security today," Oleksandr Kamyshin emphasized.
In addition, he added that the first steps in this direction have already been taken. "Defense industry is dragging personnel from other areas and branches. This is almost the only area where salaries are increasing. The number of manufacturers of arms and ammunition, including private ones, has already increased significantly. This is an indicator of the fact that the economy is changing to military lines and this is the right process," the Minister emphasized.
Oleksandr Kamyshin also added that he is looking for the most effective model for transparent communication of work results, so that this does not pose a threat to security. "The fog of military secrecy in the defense industry must disappear. Everything should be transparent, but without violating security," he concluded.
